Many Taiwanese people have English names.
I think it’s easy for me to remember their English names, since Chinese names are more difficult to remember.
However, some people mispronounce certain names.
1.Chad(恰的)
The first one is Chad. Some Taiwanese would mispronounce Chad.
Cha D sounds like some kind of snack so I get hungry if we keep talking about Cha D.
2.Ivan(以von)
Evonne
The second one is Ivan. Some Taiwanese would say Evonnev instead of Ivan.
But Evonne sounds like an American designer’s name, so don’t.
3.Howard(蒿握)
第三個是Howard(蒿握的),有些台灣人會唸成Howar
The third one is Howard.
Some Taiwanese don’t pronounce D.
4.Brad(Bread)
The fourth one is Brad. Some Taiwanese pronounce bread instead of Brad.
But they are not the same at all.
5.Ronald(Roll
第五個是Ronald(ㄖ挖弄得)
The fifth one is Ronald.
Although Ronald sounds old, but I notice many Taiwanese like old names. Like Josephine, which sounds like a 85-yr-old lady.
